Many plants appear in spirals, and even our hair sometimes does, as well. Upon closer inspection, this large round piece that looks like a ring is actually constructed in a spiral shape as well, to achieve the overall look. All kinds of discarded machineries related to spirals are placed inside the spiral. The industrial equipment is not originally part of nature, but after being put together, they seem to exist amid us, as part of nature.
Osamu Kido’s work can be seen in many parks and museums in Japan. He is meticulous, like an engineer: in order to perfect the presentation, every angle and every turn must be calculated precisely in order for him to move onto the next part. Organization is his habit and attitude: everything must be planned seamlessly in order to craft the perfect art, but this 100% logical and sensible approach actually creates very touching art with elements of nature.
